Hey Doug
I think Gerald Klaas gives you some good advice! If time is too short to start a letter writing campaign, then take the opportunity to set up a Due Process Hearing. Get a copy of the IRS Code from Irwin Schiff or someone else and bring that along with a tape recorder and a witness or two to your hearing. If you haven't already, I would download Chris Hansen's book - "The Great IRS Hoax". And get busy reading about the code and his thoughts on what questions to ask the IRS during your hearing. This is a HUGE tool for all of us and he doesn't charge a dime! This guy is a smart and well read cookie.
