Congress is currently engaged in a titanic struggle to expand Medicare
to include prescription drug coverage. The legislative provisions,
which run 2,000 pages, would create a massive new $400 billion
entitlement program, grafting it onto the already overburdened
Medicare system without enacting any structural reforms to modernize
Medicare and ensure its solvency for future generations of Americans.



If enacted, this would be the single largest entitlement expansion
since the Great Society, and it would impose an overwhelming new debt
burden on our country and on our children and grandchildren. We need
