A Fitting Thanksgiving Story

Thanksgiving

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to
the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor
people live so the son would be thankful for all that he had. They
spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be
considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the
father asked his son, " How did you like our trip?"

"It was great, Dad."

"Did you see how those people live?" the father asked.

"Oh yeah," said the son.

"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.

The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they have
four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden
and they have a creek that has no end. We have fifteen electric
lights above our garden and they have millions of stars above theirs.
Our back lawn reaches to the fence and theirs reaches all the way
to the horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they
have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve
us, but they serve one another. We have to buy our food, but
they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us;
they have friends to protect them."

The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad,
for showing me how poor we are."

Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? I want to give thanks for
everything I have, instead of worrying about what I don't have.
On Thanksgiving take the opportunity to appreciate every single
thing you have, especially friends!

"Life is too short and friends are too few." Thank you for being my friend!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

A recent entry from Irwin Schiff
The government sues you, and then steals your records so you can't adequately defend yourself. The raid occurred while I was involved in discovery in connection with the $ 2-1/2 million dollar lawsuit in which the Government seeks to reduce to judgment the assessments it made from the coerced returns I filed during my 1991 probation violation hearings. I had submitted to the government about 200 admissions which would have forced the government to admit that IRS revenue agents have no authority to seize anything in connection with income taxes. However the U.S. attorneys refused to answer the bulk of these admissions, and gave nonsensical reasons for avoiding having to do so. I have attached some of these admissions and their answers.

I've never personally met Irwin Schiff, but I've read his books and have a great deal of respect for him. Like many true patriots, he has paid a lofty price in our fight for tax freedom.

Hey Candie
Sometimes your Mom and Dad, Doug, me and others - you know, us old farts - come up with some good stuff, huh? I'm talking about Paris in this particular case. That was a GREAT FIND! ;-)

I know I'm the latecomer...
to this conversation but I have to throw my vote into the arena for Paris! Words can't even explain how thrilled I am to see that there ARE younger factions of our populus talking about the insanity of our federal bureaucracy! All of our work is paying off! Thank God! Please keep talking, yelling, writing, blogging and showing up!

I WISH A SAFE, BLESSED AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL!

From The George W. Bush Blog...

This is indeed a big country, a rich country, in a way no array of figures can measure and so in a way past belief of those who have not seen it. Even those who journey through its Northeastern complex, into the Southern lands, across the central plains and to its Western slopes can only glimpse a measure of the bounty of America.

“So sometimes the traveler is asked whence will come their succor. What is to preserve their abundance, or even their civility? How can they pass on to their children a nation as strong and free as the one they inherited from their forefathers? How is their country to endure these cruel storms that beset it from without and from within?

“We can remind ourselves that for all our social discord we yet remain the longest enduring society of free men governing themselves without benefit of kings or dictators. Being so, we are the marvel and the mystery of the world, for that enduring liberty is no less a blessing than the abundance of the earth.

I gotta give G. Dub credit for hiring good writers 'cuz he sure as hell didn't write this stuff himself! That should be evident to you all!

Hey Hey!
Perhaps it was all Joe's doing or maybe our collective emails and calls bitching and complaining to the government, senators, representatives, etc. made a difference in the Joe Banister hearing! Either way, his hearing will now be held in United States Courthouse Federal Building, U.S. Tax Court, Courtroom 2-1350 in San Francisco instead of the Coast Guard installation AND will be open to the public. By the sounds of it, Judge Moran wasn't too pleased with all of the noise and rumblings. Geez now aint that tough shit for this ol' judge and his governmental song and dance troupe! Joe only asked for his unalienable right to due process!

A Bittersweet Result
as Dick Simkanin's trial ends up in a mistrial. It's a good thing that the prosecution could not decisively prove its case to the jury BUT it means that Dick is back in prison while he awaits a new trial.

I hope everyone is sending their support to Dick Simkanin by way of letters, donations, etc. as well as supporting Mrs. Simkanin.

The Simkanin trial is all the evidence I need to know that Judge McBride deserves to be impeached for his obvious bias in this case and jailed for his acts of treason past and present.

Joe Banister, too, deserves some justice and due process right NOW! The mockery he is about to enter into is an absolute abomination of our justice system. But then, I guess we are getting used to that BS from our twisted government. I PRAY THAT EVERYONE CONTACTS THEIR SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN ABOUT THE SECRECY SURROUNDING JOE BANISTER'S HEARING BEFORE THEY RECESS FOR THE HOLIDAYS! PLEASE, DO IT NOW.
