Senate Bill S.1145
I was recently shown Senate Bill S.1145 Local Law Enforcement Enhancement Act of 2005. 1
This seems to be yet another example of Big Brother's attempt at total domination of "We The People" but by ANY measure is a totally worthless bill.
It sets out to make it a crime when a violent act injuring or attempting to injure a minority of any sort is committed. Apparently the Senate body doesn't feel that the current laws are enough. Perhaps they feel that us poor widdle ignowant states can't tend to such large responsibilities as passing laws for dealing with crimes against others.
Now I'm no brainiac but it seems to me that there are already ample local and state laws to deal with these kinds of acts against others as well as 51 constitutions and most religious doctrine to steer our consciences to boot.
Why must our highly paid elected body waste its time on such overkill when they have sought to ignore sunset provisions of the [un]Patriot Acts and reinstated them, have only (thus far) toyed around with bills that would overcome the treasonous act of the U.S. supreme Court in Kelo et al v City of New London. I can't help but think that this is a precursor to a much bolder future act against us. Time will tell if I'm right or wrong and I sincerely hope it is the latter.
At any rate, I wrote my senators and congressman a short note and I urge you to do the same and let your senators and congressperson know how you feel about, what in my view is a ludicrous bill and waste of time. See the letter below.
LETTER
Dear Senator Dayton,
With all due respect sir, are you guys running out of useful things to do FOR the American people (i.e. extinguishing such [un]"patriotic" law such as the Patriot Acts or amending (DELETING) Section 6 of S397 or passing useful laws against the absolute treasonous act by the U.S. supreme Court in Kelo et al v City of New London)? The latter should have been RUSHED through the Senate in record time - that is - if the Constitution meant anything to our sitting Congress.
The current bill S.1145 Local Law Enforcement Enhancement Act of 2005 is of NO value to anyone in this country or the corporate United States! We have NUMEROUS laws (local, state, federal), 51 constitutions and virtually all religous doctrines that do not allow violent acts upon ANYONE unless there is a serious threat to one's own life. PERIOD
Let's enforce the laws on crimes against others and promote swift and harsh punishments to those tried and found guilty by a competent jury of their peers. Another law won't help! Who on God's green earth are you all trying to fool this time?
